The passage of additional assistance to Ukraine by the United States Congress is vital for it. Secretary of State Antony Blinken said this.
In an interview with CNN, he answered the question of what the situation would mean for Ukraine and Israel if a decision is not made before the end of 2023. “I think the only people who will be happy if this supplemental budget request is not voted on and approved by Congress are in Moscow, Tehran, Beijing,” he said.
Blinken noted that Ukrainians have made significant progress over the past year in pushing back against Russian aggression, but heavy fighting in the south and east continues and funding is running out.
"By the way, 9% of the security assistance that we provided to Ukraine is actually invested here in the United States, in our companies, in our manufacturers. We also had extraordinary burden sharing with our allies and partners. We provided very significant assistance, about "$70 billion in the last two years. Our European friends and partners outside of Europe: over $110 billion for Ukraine. So we have the burden sharing that we need," he added.
