Ukraine is facing a critical shortage of artillery shells. Every day, Russia uses three times more firepower at the front, Ukrainian Defense Minister Rustem Umerov said in a letter to his EU colleagues.

Bloomberg writes about this, whose journalists were able to familiarize themselves with the contents of this letter. According to the minister, Ukraine cannot fire more than 2,000 shells per day along the front line, which stretches for 1,500 kilometers. This is less than a third of the amount of ammunition produced by the occupation army of the Russian Federation.

At the same time, the situation with the weapons shortage is worsening every day. The defense chief called on EU allies to do more to fulfill their commitment to supply a million artillery shells. He said Ukraine needs to at least match the firepower of its enemy.

“Usually the side that has more ammunition for the fight wins,” the minister emphasized.

It is noted that Ukraine needs 200 thousand 155-mm shells per month.
