German Defense Minister Boris Pistorius called on Europe and NATO member countries to prepare for the “worst-case scenario.”

"I don't like looking into a crystal ball. I can't predict if or when there will be an attack on NATO territory. But it could happen in five to eight years," he said in an interview with the American Bloomberg.

He also called on American legislators to approve additional military assistance to Ukraine, noting that this is in the interests of the United States of America itself.

"Europe is geographically far from Iowa or Wisconsin, but still very close in terms of security policy. Less security in Europe means less security for the United States. We must not take freedom for granted. We must defend it. If necessary we will have to fight for it," Pistorius added.
