Former South Carolina governor and US presidential candidate Nikki Haley advocated further assistance to Ukraine in the war against Russia.
In an interview with ABC news, she said it was necessary to remind the American people that Putin is not a person who can be trusted. "The importance of ensuring Ukraine's victory is clear because we must prevent further war. And right now Putin feels bolder than ever," she said.
Haley believes that President Joe Biden has not explained to Americans why Ukraine is important. "He has not once spoken to the American people about the terrorist activities going on with Israel and why Iran is so dangerous. He does not at any point talk about threats from China. And when you don't talk about these things with the American people , they distance themselves from it,” she added.
The presidential candidate stressed that US enemies see "Biden's failure on this front" and also hear Donald Trump's statements that he is not worried about the invasion of Ukraine. Poland and the Baltic countries are under threat of Russian attack.
"This immediately plunges America into war. That's what we're trying to avoid. And that's why this aid package is so important. Ukraine is not asking for troops, it's just asking for equipment and ammunition to win this war. They have a lot of fighting power. We need to give "They have what they need so they can win so we can prevent our military men and women from being sent to fight," she said.
