The head of the joint press center of the Operational Command "South" Natalya Gumenyuk said that the Russian invaders are pulling up certain resources and increasing the number of shelling in southern Ukraine. The situation in that direction is tense.
"During today's daylight hours, the enemy shelled Kherson and coastal settlements 57 times. This is again a return to the indicator that was before - 90 shelling per day. This indicates that the enemy manages, albeit slowly, to pull up certain resources," she said on the air of the telethon.
At the same time, Gumenyuk added that the Defense Forces continue to work on the destruction of enemy stocks. So, two ammunition depots were liquidated in a day, 33 occupiers were "minused". The defenders also destroyed 22 units of enemy equipment, in particular, 4 combat Lancets, with which the enemy is trying to hit the coast, 5 large-caliber guns of the Hyacinth, Msta B and D-30 types.
According to Gumenyuk, the boat on which the enemy sent another DRG was also destroyed. She went "at the rate of the Russian warship." In addition, Ukrainian defenders scrapped 11 vehicles and armored vehicles of the enemy.
"Trying to maneuver along the left bank and look for positions for ourselves where our counter-battery work will not reach, the enemy is nervous, the enemy is exhausted. Their moral and psychological spirit has declined, but they are forced under the pressure of detachments, which are very often used on the left bank, keep the positions that they have designated," Gumenyuk stressed.
A representative of the press center of the Southern Defense Forces noted that often these positions were not equipped after the flood caused by the Russians undermining the Kakhovskaya hydroelectric power station in June 2023. She added that the invaders are embittered by the Ukrainian offensive and are trying to shoot back at the civilian population.
