The "Person of the Year" awards, a nationwide program that recognizes exceptional achievements, presented the National Guard of Ukraine with the "Unbreakable" title. This recognition acknowledges the Guard's heroism, military victories, courage, and incredible resilience demonstrated in the defense of Ukraine's freedom and independence.
Among the distinguished guests at the award ceremony were Lieutenant Colonel Mykhailo Vernihora, who played a crucial role in defending Mariupol in the Donetsk region, including the "Azovstal" plant, and the wife and son of the late Lieutenant Colonel Oleksandr Orlov, who gave his life in defense of Kharkiv.
The ceremony's commander emphasized the countless stories of unwavering determination displayed by the Guard's soldiers and the Ukrainian people. Each of these stories speaks of great strength of will, perseverance, and resilience. The individuals recognized at this event have traversed a challenging path and faced various trials, making them truly deserving of the "Unbreakable" title.
In addition to the traditional awards given in national professional categories, special and international honors, the Higher Academic Council of "Person of the Year" introduced a series of special military-patriotic awards under the collective name "Unbreakable."
The joint award ceremony for "Person of the Year 2021-2022" took place on Sunday, November 5th.
