The Avdeevka coke plant is completely under the control of Ukrainian troops. This was stated by Ukrainian Armed Forces officer, expert of the Leviathan analytical group Nikolai Melnik.
As he noted in a comment to Ukrainian Radio, the occupiers tried to bring tanks under the coke plant, but the Special Operations Forces worked there, and the enemy’s equipment remained in the field.
“That is, due to the large number of anti-tank weapons and yet the artillery that we have, the enemy is really losing a lot of equipment. Due to the fact that the Ukrainians have this, the Russians cannot use their equipment to its full capacity. That is, according to By and large, it turned into big targets. In terms of infantry, the invaders had huge losses with the use of Storm-Z units, they really were not spared. But they are also now in a dilapidated state. That is, one should not think that Storm-Z "Z" is some kind of army. These are 5-6 rifle battalions. Without constant replenishment, they cannot lose such a large number that they lost during the battles for the Avdeevsky fortified area, when up to 70 people died in the battle while capturing just a strong point,” – he emphasized.
An officer of the Armed Forces of Ukraine noted that the Russians have not been able to approach the Avdeevsky coke plant for the third week.
“Yes, they crossed the “piece of iron”, they gained a foothold in the landing, but that was all over. Firstly, at the coke plant two weeks ago they appointed a commandant from the 110th brigade. This is very important, because at the beginning of the defense there there were several units. Under such conditions, there is no coordination. Because in order for you to have one coordination, you need at least one wave of interaction via radio. The radios must be re-flashed for one wave, and each brigade has its own firmware. Therefore, appoint a person in charge “That’s already half the battle,” Melnik explained.
After appointing a responsible person, communication between different departments improved. The officer claims that Koksohim has turned “into a separate fortified area.” This became possible in particular due to the involvement of special forces and units that have a large number of anti-tank weapons and artillery.
“That is, the attention of several units is concentrated there, and therefore the Russians do not have a quantitative advantage there. They need to concentrate about three thousand infantrymen in that direction so that they simply approach that fence. For the Russians, this is also a rather difficult situation. Again, there is an option , how else can they try to approach - it’s simply to suppress our front line, artillery. But for this, our artillerymen are conducting an active, successful counter-battery fight, sometimes using “highmars”. That is, when we don’t reach out, we don’t have enough means, then the means the senior commander, that is, the commander-in-chief, intervene and restore parity,” Melnyk concluded.
