On January 23, Russian invaders fired on nine communities in the Sumy region, resulting in casualties and significant destruction.
According to the chairman of the Sumy Regional Military Administration, Dmitry Zhivitsky, in his Telegram channel, the Russians opened fire on the Belopol community three times from mortars (23 "arrivals") and from self-propelled artillery mounts (24 "arrivals"). In addition, in the direction of the Seredino-Budskaya community, the enemy opened fire from machine guns (40 rounds) and machine guns (30 rounds).
"In the Znob-Novgorod community, the enemy fired mortars, 25 "arrivals." In the Yunakovskaya community, there was also mortar shelling from the territory of the Russian Federation, 10 "arrivals." Putivl community: the Russians fired at the border area from the MLRS, 6 "arrivals." fired from self-propelled guns, 4 “arrivals.” Army men were shelling the Miropol community, 10 “arrivals,” said Zhivitsky.
At the same time, according to him, shelling from the territory of Russia was recorded in the Vorozhbyan community - 15 "arrivals". As a result of this shelling, an apartment building was damaged: a Russian shell flew into one of the apartments, so it was completely destroyed, and three more apartments were significantly damaged.
Also, because of the explosions, household premises of local residents were destroyed: a summer kitchen, a barn, a bathhouse, a garage. In addition, the gas pipeline and electric lines were broken by shrapnel, the premises of the railway and the track were damaged.
"In the Esman community, the enemy fired mortars, 37 "arrivals." There was also shelling from the territory of Russia - 10 "arrivals." In the village of Kucherovka, the enemy fired 30 rockets from Gradov. As a result of the shelling, one young woman died, three more were injured "These are residents of the same house, members of the same family, where there was a direct hit by explosives. Two babies were left without a mother," the chairman of the UVA added.
