Since the beginning of the full-scale invasion, on February 24, 2022, Russia has fired about 5,000 missiles on the territory of Ukraine.
This was announced by the Deputy Chief of the Main Operational Directorate of the General Staff of the Armed Forces of Ukraine, Brigadier General Alexei Gromov at a briefing on February 23.
"In total, since the beginning of the full-scale armed aggression, the Russian occupation forces have carried out almost 5,000 missile and almost 3,500 air strikes on targets in Ukraine," he said.
In addition, the invaders inflicted almost 1.1 thousand strikes using drones.
According to Gromov, due to the beginning of a "high-precision missile starvation," Russian troops are using Kh-22 air-launched anti-ship cruise missiles, the so-called "aircraft carrier killers," to destroy Ukrainian residential buildings.
He also noted that the Kremlin's plans have not changed - Russia is still trying to capture the key cities of the Donetsk region, and by the summer - to capture the Luhansk and Donetsk regions.
