From the very morning of February 24, 2022, traffic jams formed on the Zhytomyr highway. The people of Kiev tried to leave the capital. Those who fled from the enemy from the settlements, which the Russians had already entered, also went to it.
But this route has become the last way for many. The route of death - this is exactly what the road westward from the capital was called because of the atrocities of the Russians. She was told about in the TSN story.
According to journalist Alexander Zagorodny, apparently, the columns of Russians at the entrance to Kyiv were met by Bayraktars. They burned the occupier's trucks full of shells. The invaders fail to enter the capital in parade columns, so they go to the forest and begin to dig trenches and rob the surrounding villages. They also killed civilians who fled along the highway from Kyiv and the suburbs in their cars.
Also on the Zhytomyr highway, they filmed the moment when a man got out of his car with his hands up, in which his wife and daughter were wounded, and asked not to kill. But the invaders fired.
And later, Ukrainian artillery began to smash the Russians on the Zhytomyr highway and in the adjacent forests to smithereens.
