Croatia is preparing to transfer 14 Mi-8 helicopters to Ukraine, the delivery of which was announced back in November. According to Jutarnji list, the helicopters will be ready for dispatch in about 10 days.
According to journalists, twelve Mi-8MTV-1 and two Mi-8T helicopters were withdrawn from the Croatian Armed Forces and are now undergoing maintenance at the aviation technical center in Bolshaya Gorica.
Among other things, all existing markings are being removed from helicopters and repair and restoration work is being carried out.
"The helicopters are expected to be ready for transport in about ten days. According to our information, seven helicopters will be partially dismantled and transported by land, and the remaining seven will fly to Poland," the newspaper writes.
Journalists were unable to obtain official confirmation from the authorities, since the Croatian government classified all military assistance to Ukraine as closed to public access.
