As well as the dictator of Belarus Alexander Lukashenko. According to the MEPs, such a need is due to direct evidence of Lukashenka's involvement in war crimes committed by the Russian Federation and personally by Vladimir Putin. The resolution refers to the criminal cases opened by Ukraine and Lithuania in the case of the illegal export of more than two thousand Ukrainian orphans from the Russian Federation to Belarus.
In the resolution, the deputies urge to do everything possible so that the military-political leadership of Belarus, who take part in the acts of genocide of Ukrainians, are held accountable for their actions. According to the deputies, the issuance of an arrest warrant to the Belarusian president is a logical and consistent action, since arrest warrants have already been issued to Russian President Vladimir Putin and Commissioner for Children's Rights Maria Lvova-Belova.
Also, the European Parliament called for expanding the sanctions list of people from Russia and Belarus to include people involved in the genocide.
