Secretary of the National Security and Defense Council Oleksiy Danilov commented on the possibility of holding elections in Ukraine in the near future. He stressed that without the military, who are now protecting the country, elections are impossible.
"As for the elections, I can say that I do not understand how elections can be held during the war. Keep in mind that people are directly in the trenches, on the front line ... I have a simple question: what about those who think that it is necessary to hold elections, are they going to involve these people? Are you going to hold elections without people in pixels? This should be treated with extreme caution, "Danilov explained on the air of the telethon.
According to him, now in the country "the time of the pixel, the law of the pixel, the laws of the pixel."
“We must pay attention to this and understand that they are citizens of our country and they must definitely participate in this. I don’t know who could think for themselves that it is possible to decide the fate of the country without them. This is impossible. (...) If the people who defend our country do not take part in the elections, then I want to see what kind of elections it will be. Keep in mind that we are a country in which public society always has its say at a responsible time for the country," summed up Danilov.
