The Russian invaders continue to violate international humanitarian law. The Russians are preparing for a new wave of forced mobilization in the temporarily occupied territories of Ukraine, which is expressly prohibited by Article 51 of the Fourth Geneva Convention of 1949.
According to the Center for National Resistance, the forced mobilization plan was presented, in particular, to Gauleiters in the occupied Gorlovka, Donetsk region (the city has been under occupation since 2014). However, the collaborators stated that social tension is growing in the city, because since the beginning of the full-scale invasion of the Russian Federation into Ukraine, more than 20,000 residents of Horlivka, who were forcibly mobilized in 2022, have died.
"Out of the residents of the temporarily occupied territories, advanced detachments are formed, which the Russians, without proper training, throw at the Ukrainian detachments, because the Russians benefit from the death of Ukrainians, regardless of the side they are fighting for. At the same time, the goals of the SVO are not achieved and are constantly changing. Last year 300 thousand citizens of the Russian Federation were mobilized to achieve ephemeral goals. The result of this mobilization were hundreds of thousands of corpses and wounded Russians, which increased social tension already in the Russian Federation itself," the CNS explained.
It is noted that now the Russians are planning to increase the pace of mobilization in the occupied territories of Ukraine, "so as not to withdraw their population from the trance of propaganda and not lose the popularity of the war."
