In Ukraine, they are working to create all the conditions for at least 2 months of training of recruits for participation in combat operations. Commander-in-Chief of the Armed Forces of Ukraine Oleksandr Syrsky held a meeting in which he discussed the issue of training servicemen at the end of the year.
The work was attended by Chief of the General Staff Anatoliy Bargilevich, Deputy Commander-in-Chief Oleg Apostol, as well as heads of structural units of the General Staff, commanders of various types and branches of the armed forces, and commanders of individual combat units.
"We are currently working on creating conditions so that preparation for participation in combat operations lasts 2 months in total. After all, high-quality training is, first of all, the preserved life and health of our soldiers," the Commander-in-Chief said in a message on Facebook.
Syrsky emphasized that, according to his decisions, there are already results. Instead of the 30-day training that was previously in place, there are the first "graduations" of servicemen who underwent basic general military training (BGMT) for one and a half months.
After this, recruits must also undergo a beginner's course in a military unit - 5-14 days. Although, according to Syrsky, this requirement is not always met in the current conditions of intense fighting.
"I emphasized the need to ensure a full, 14-day, adaptation period for recruits in brigades. Commanders must prepare soldiers as much as possible for the challenges of modern warfare in order to keep them in combat," the Commander-in-Chief of the Armed Forces of Ukraine noted.
