The head of the Joint Coordinating Press Center of the Defense Forces of the South of Ukraine, Natalya Gumenyuk, commented on the frequent rise into the sky in the last days of enemy MiGs without missile attacks, assuming that the Russians are preparing to "haunt" Ukraine on Independence Day. She said this on the air of the unified news telethon, commenting in particular on yesterday's frequent air raids due to the take-off of Russian fighters.
"Most likely, coordination activities are taking place, measures are being taken to reconcile positions. And including the rise of aircraft, they are always associated with the detection of air defense systems - the enemy can actively collect information," Gumenyuk noted.
According to her, the reconnaissance activity of the aggressor was quite high yesterday in the south.
“Over the past day in the Mykolaiv region, an operational-tactical level UAV of the Merlin type, which also collected information, was destroyed twice. And flying so deep behind the front line just indicates that the presence and readiness of air defense systems are being checked,” Gumenyuk noted.
She recalled that the occupiers are activated on various important dates for Ukrainians.
"And this may indicate certain preparations. Analysts noted that Russians still have a gravitation towards sacred dates. On August 23-24, they may be haunted and they may haunt us too," Gumenyuk said.
