Armed Forces of Ukraine overcame minefields in the south, further offensive will go faster - ISW

The latest advances of the Ukrainian Defense Forces in the south are of significant tactical importance, since they allow them to operate beyond the boundaries of large-scale minefields. This is reported by the American Institute for the Study of War (ISW).
Analysts note that on August 19, Ukrainian troops continued counter-offensive operations in at least three sectors of the front, advancing at the Avdiivka-Donetsk line and in the west of the Zaporozhye region near the village of Rabotino.
In addition, geolocation footage released as early as August 16 shows that Ukrainian forces have recently made a limited advance east of the village of Nevelskoye, located immediately west of Donetsk.
“The latest Ukrainian offensives near small settlements near the administrative border between Donetsk and Zaporizhzhya regions and in the west of Zaporozhye are likely to be of tactical importance due to the structure of Russian defensive lines. These achievements may allow Ukrainian forces to begin operating in less mined sections of the Russian defense line, which, likely to contribute to Ukraine's faster achievements," ISW notes.
