The event was organized by the public organization Unlimited Democracy on the occasion of the anniversary of the first massive missile attack by the Russian military on the energy infrastructure of Ukraine.
About 100 participants of the action, dressed in black, gathered in one of the central squares of Vienna. They held placards with calls to stop Russian aggression. At the same time, among the people in black sat activists wearing pink glasses with the signs "We understand, but...", "Give security guarantees to Russia, and the war will end", "We are safe." Thus, the organizers emphasized the naivety of such positions, which are based on Russian propaganda.
In addition, special information stands talked about the war crimes of the Russians, highlighted the situation in the occupied territories of Ukraine and the sad statistics of the war.
"Every day, Russia continues to bomb Ukraine. In the occupied territories, the Russians continue to kill, torture, and oppress Ukrainians. The Austrians do not understand this. Also, Ukraine disappears from the information space, so we came out with the entire diaspora to remind about Russian terrorist actions in the center of Europe," she said. NGO coordinator Veronika Arbatova.
She added that Ukrainians are grateful to Austria for the humanitarian and economic aid provided and call for continued support for the people of Ukraine.
Activists also emphasized that Austria's rejection of Russian gas is in the interests of their own security, since the Russian Federation is instrumentalizing gas as part of a hybrid war against the West and democratic values.
