Russia hit Kyiv with missiles: there is an “arrival”, casualties and many injured

On Monday afternoon, July 8, the Russians launched a missile attack on Kyiv, there was an “arrival” and many casualties. According to preliminary information, five people were killed.
The Air Defense Forces were working in the suburbs of the capital, said the mayor of Kyiv Vitaliy Klitschko and called on residents to take shelter. “Explosions in Kyiv! Details later. Don’t leave your shelters!” the official later shared. A few minutes later, the head of the city added that doctors were called to the Solomensky district, and the team was heading to the call.
Powerful explosions in Kyiv were heard today, in particular, in the Obolonsky and Goloseevsky districts.
At 10.54 Klitschko wrote that the explosion occurred in the Shevchenko district. “At the moment, three victims are known. One of them was hospitalized. Two were treated on the spot. We are checking information about one person who died. They ended up in one of the premises of a children’s medical institution,” the mayor added.
The Kiev city military administration reported that they recorded falling debris in the Dnieper, Svyatoshinsky, Shevchenkovsky, Desnyansky, Darnitsky, Goloseevsky, Solomensky districts.
The following consequences of the attack are known in advance:
- an office building was damaged in the Solomensky district;
- in Goloseevsky - garages were damaged, cars were on fire;
- in Dneprovsky, debris burned in a residential area;
- in the Darnitsky district a private house was damaged;
- in the Shevchenkovsky district, the Okhmatdyt children's hospital was damaged, there is destruction;
- in the Svyatoshinsky district, debris burned near a residential building, and a fire broke out in the premises of one of the enterprises;
- a house caught fire in the Desnyansky district.

Blogger Nikolaevsky Vanek wrote at 10:28 in his Telegram channel that enemy missiles of the “Caliber” and “Dagger” types were detected in the Kyiv area. At 10.46 he claimed that the capital had fought off a massive attack.
The air raid alert in Kyiv on the afternoon of July 8 began at 9.52, and the all-clear was at 11.34.
