TVORCHI, a popular music group in Ukraine, has presented a visually stunning video for their latest single, "Together." This release comes right on the heels of their extensive nationwide tour, where they've been promoting unity and togetherness among the Ukrainian people.
The inspiration for the song came from the band's experiences during the first leg of their all-Ukraine tour. They performed in 11 cities and witnessed a common desire among people: peace and victory. Thousands of individuals united by a single aspiration - unity. This unity is a driving force, sometimes forgotten in the face of challenging circumstances, leaving people vulnerable.
The video begins with an African proverb voiced by TVORCHI's lead singer, Jeffrey: "If you want to go fast, go alone. If you want to go far, go together." The video is rich in allegories and profound meanings. The band members, donning elaborate multi-layered costumes, march side by side against powerful gusts of wind that threaten to knock them off their feet. This visual representation mirrors the turbulent path that Ukrainians are navigating today.
In a statement, the band expressed their sentiments, "In a few days, the second part of our tour begins in the eastern part of the country, where the 'Together' track will be performed live for the first time. We want to bring it to cities facing particular difficulties and say, 'We are here, wherever we may be, we stand together.'"
The video was shot over more than ten hours at the campus of Igor Sikorsky Kyiv Polytechnic Institute. The stormy weather conditions were simulated using powerful fans, and each artist's costume weighed over 10 kilograms.
Director Ruslan Makov shared his vision for the video, "We aimed to convey the emotional state that most of us are living in right now. We are people resisting a tremendous gust of wind. This wind symbolizes the complexity of the journey - the stronger it blows, the harder our path becomes. When we walk alone, we can't withstand the flow; it sweeps us away. But when we stand together, we can overcome anything."
The lyrics from the "Together" track, "As long as we share warmth, life makes sense," encapsulate the song's core message, emphasizing the importance of unity.
