The Royal Museum of Fine Arts in Brussels, a major cultural landmark in the heart of Belgium's capital, has unveiled an extraordinary exhibition of Ukrainian avant-garde art. The exhibition, titled "Eye of the Storm: Modernism in Ukraine 1900-1930," is a testament to Ukraine's long and illustrious history, as well as its rich culture and traditions.

Natalia Anoshina, Ukraine's Charge d'Affaires in the Kingdom of Belgium and the Grand Duchy of Luxembourg, expressed her excitement about presenting Ukrainian modernism from the early 20th century in the heart of the European Union. She emphasized that this exhibition underlines Ukraine's integral role in European culture and will resonate strongly in Brussels, home to one of the country's most renowned and grand museums of fine arts.

The exhibition features outstanding works by Ukrainian modernists who flourished during the early 20th century and the time of the Ukrainian People's Republic (UNR). Among the prominent Ukrainian artists showcased are Kazimir Malevich, Aleksandra Ekster, Lazar Lissitzky, Sara Shor, Mykhailo Boichuk, and others, who are vivid representatives of Ukrainian avant-garde art. Their lives and artistic contributions are intertwined with Ukraine's tumultuous history and are an integral part of Europe's cultural heritage.

The exhibition, "Eye of the Storm: Modernism in Ukraine 1900-1930," is currently touring European capitals as part of an effort to preserve Ukrainian heritage in the face of ongoing threats from Russian aggressors. The National Art Museum of Ukraine and the Museum of Theatre, Music, and Cinema Arts of Ukraine have provided the artworks for this remarkable exhibition.

Visitors can explore this exhibition at the Royal Museum of Fine Arts in Belgium until January 28th of the following year. It will then continue its journey to other European capitals. In a generous gesture, the administration of the Royal Museum of Belgium has granted free access to Ukrainian nationals to view these exceptional artworks.
