The State Property Fund of Ukraine plans to launch a major privatization process in the second half of 2024, offering assets worth more than 250 million hryvnia for auction. In an interview with Ukrainian Radio, the head of the State Property Fund of Ukraine, Vitaly Koval, emphasized that this large privatization differs from small privatization and includes objects with a book value of assets above the specified threshold.

Expected privatization objects

As the head of the State Property Fund notes, a variety of objects will be put up for sale, including both sanctioned and privatized ones. Among the interesting proposals is also the alcoholic beverages production industry, which is moving toward clear denationalization.

Privatization plans for 2024

The Ministry of Finance has already approved privatization plans for 2024 at the level of 4.8 billion hryvnia from the lease of state property. According to the data, by mid-March successful privatization auctions worth about 900 million hryvnia were held.

The need to begin large-scale privatization is due to a lack of funds in the state budget of Ukraine. Prime Minister Denis Shmigal noted that state budget expenses significantly exceed revenues, so the country needs financial support from international partners.
