According to Polish President Andrzej Duda, Ukraine and its allies do not appreciate Poland's assistance, in particular regarding logistics in the delivery of military aid. He said this in an interview on the YouTube channel Otwarta Konserwa, RMF24 and Polsat News write.
The Polish leader called his relations with Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky good and said that they were successfully turned into "political and image benefits for Poland", especially in the first months of Russian aggression against Ukraine. However, Duda expressed dissatisfaction with the fact that Ukrainians and partners, in his opinion, do not appreciate Poland's assistance.
Speaking about the airport near Rzeszow, which has played a key role in the transfer of international aid to Ukraine since the beginning of the Russian invasion, he said that Ukrainians and allies think "as if it is theirs".
"For example, I think that both Ukrainians and our allies simply think that the airport in Rzeszow and our highways are theirs. Well, it is not theirs. It is ours. Therefore, if someone does not like something, we close it and say goodbye. Yes, we are doing repairs. We close the airport in Rzeszow - and deliver it to Ukraine by sea, by air, I don't know, drop it by parachute... Sort it out if you think that you don't need us," the Polish president said.
The Polish president said that in certain situations related to aid to neighbors, "Poland could demonstrate that it should not be ignored." He considers it a mistake not to have done so.
Duda also expressed dissatisfaction with the fact that Poland was not invited "to very important international bodies" where decisions were made on the delivery of aid through its territory. At the same time, in his opinion, there is no point in discussing this issue with Ukraine, but only with allies, in particular with the Germans and the Americans.
