As negotiations continued, the government of Serbia has committed to providing temporary accommodation, lasting between 4 to 6 months, to the affected families. This accommodation will be provided in new hotel-style refugee centers. These facilities are specifically designed to cater to the needs of the displaced families and offer a safe and comfortable environment during their difficult time.
The selected venue for housing these families will be the refugee center in the city of Vranje, which currently hosts approximately 70 Ukrainian citizens. Each family will be provided with a fully renovated and furnished room, complete with a private bathroom. Additionally, the Serbian government has ensured that these families will receive three meals a day and prompt medical care, further alleviating their hardships.
Importantly, the conditions provided by Serbia for temporarily displaced individuals from Ukraine are considered among the best in Europe. These centers are primarily funded through EU programs, underlining the European Union's commitment to humanitarian support in times of crisis.
