Today, January 9, Russian troops dropped guided aerial bombs on Kherson, which destroyed residential buildings, there are many wounded.
"In the middle of the day, the Russians attacked Kherson from aircraft. The enemy dropped KABs on residential buildings," said the head of the Kherson Regional State Administration, Oleksandr Prokudin.
According to him, many people were injured - women and men who suffered blast injuries and shrapnel wounds.
An ambulance team provided assistance to one victim on the spot, the rest are in hospitals. Doctors are examining them and providing them with the necessary assistance.
The official released a video showing what the city looks like after the attack. In particular, it is clear that residential buildings were destroyed, the blast wave knocked out gates, window frames, glass, collapsed ceilings, walls, and destroyed people's property. Some were locked in their homes and could not get out without outside help. In particular, an elderly woman can be heard in the video asking for help and crying.
As the head of the Kherson MVA Roman Mrochko clarified, the occupiers struck the city at 11:00. Three guided aerial bombs were launched, one hit a private house, destroying it. A man and a woman were pulled out from under the rubble and taken away by ambulance. The 85-year-old victim has a concussion, blast and closed craniocerebral trauma. Another victim has an acute stress reaction.
Two more men, 52 and 62 years old, were on the street at the time of the KAB hit. One of the men suffered a blast injury and a shrapnel wound to the right hand, while the other had facial abrasions, a blast injury, and a closed craniocerebral injury. The woman, born in 1961, and the man, born in 1957, suffered a mine-explosive injury. Subsequently, a 56-year-old Kherson resident sought medical help for a mine-explosive injury and concussion.
According to Mrochko, the enemy airstrike also caused fires, and an enterprise and a kindergarten were hit. In particular, the official published a photo to show what the children's institution looks like after the Russian terrorist attack.
The press service of the Kherson Regional Prosecutor's Office stated that a pre-trial investigation has been launched in a criminal case on the fact of a war crime (Part 1 of Article 438 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine).
"We currently know of 5 civilian casualties who have been hospitalized. The information is being clarified. As a result of enemy shelling, there is significant damage and destruction of houses, industrial facilities and vehicles," the department said.
In addition, in the morning, the occupiers attacked several streets in Berislav using UAVs. As a result of the attacks, a 54-year-old man was killed, and three more civilians were injured. The enemy also shelled the village of Nesokrushimoe in the Belozersk community with artillery: a 60-year-old woman was killed.
