On the night of November 28, IAEA experts recorded several explosions near the Khmelnitsky nuclear power plant. That night, the Russian occupiers once again attacked Ukraine with drones.
This is stated in a report published on the website of the International Atomic Energy Agency. The group monitoring the situation at the Khmelnitsky nuclear power plant reported that while in their premises, they heard several explosions that night in close proximity to the nuclear power plant. They sounded for 20 minutes.
It is noted that the station itself was not damaged. However, this incident showed that while there is a war in Ukraine, all nuclear power plants on its territory remain in danger, IAEA Director General Rafael Grossi emphasized.
"Much of the world's attention - and rightly so - is focused on the very real dangers facing the Zaporozhye nuclear power plant, (...) as it is located on the front line. But yesterday's event (November 28 - ed.) serves as a reminder that We must not forget about other nuclear facilities in Ukraine, which are also potentially subject to missile and other attacks. All Ukrainian nuclear facilities remain vulnerable, either directly if they are hit by a missile, or indirectly if their external power supply is disrupted. Highly unstable conditions continue to exist throughout Ukraine nuclear security situation," he added.
