In the midst of Ukraine's challenges, the spirit of St. Nicholas reached the Ukrainian community in Ankara. The event was organized with the goal of reminding the young attendees of their roots and identity. Ambassador Vasyl Bodnar emphasized the significance of being Ukrainian, encouraging pride in their heritage.
The celebration, orchestrated with the support of the Ukrainian Embassy in Turkey, the Ukrainian Community in Ankara, and the Turkish company Haribo, featured a variety of activities. Ambassador Bodnar's wife, Katerina Bodnar, expressed her hope that the festivities would bring lasting joy to the children.
In addition to the performance by the Ukrainian creative group "Coloritmy," children from Saturday studios associated with the Ukrainian Community in Ankara showcased their talents. The "Shchedryk" performance and a painting studio named "Ptashenchka" provided entertainment, while masterclasses were organized for the young participants.
The children received sweet gifts and Ukrainian-language books titled "Stories from Grandma's Backyard" by Olga Kharishyna. The event aimed not only to celebrate St. Nicholas but also to foster a sense of community and pride among the Ukrainian diaspora in Ankara.
