Action Button: A Game-Changer for iPhone 16
Apple has made waves in tech circles by announcing a game-changing feature for its future iPhone 16 series. The company plans to extend one of the main features from the iPhone 15 Pro and 15 Pro Max to the entire 2024 lineup of iPhones: the customizable Action Button.

According to reports from MacRumors, this customizable button, replacing the silent mode switch, will make its appearance across all iPhone 16 smartphones, including the standard models. What's more, the mechanism of this component will transition to a touch-sensitive interface.

Additionally, Apple's engineers intend to add even more functionality to the Action Button in the iPhone 16 lineup. Presently, users can assign one of nine scenarios to this button, including launching the camera or activating the flashlight.

Sources indicate that the updated "Actions" button will function similarly to the Touch ID button on older iPhone models or the Force Touch trackpad on newer MacBooks. The force sensor will detect changes in pressure levels and transmit signals to the control elements.

MacRumors also suggests that the Action Button will make its way to the budget-friendly iPhone SE 4th generation, slated for release in 2025. Following this introduction, the physical sound mode switch will officially become a thing of the past.

Previously, information surfaced regarding Apple's revised strategy to equip all iPhone models with new processors. In recent generations, Apple's latest chips were exclusive to the Pro versions of the iPhone, while base models had to make do with the previous year's platform.
