In Chernivtsi, employees of the territorial recruitment and social support center detained a priest.
This was announced on December 6 in the Chernivtsi diocese of the OCU. According to them, priest Ilya Kuzyuk was captured while he was going to evening service. He was taken to the TCC building, and then to the military unit of the city of Rivne.
“My father was going to vespers, which he was supposed to send. He was walking in ordinary everyday clothes. He was stopped by workers of the TCC, as it later turned out from Sokiryany, which is 140 kilometers from Chernivtsi. No one wanted to listen to him that he was a priest and had a certificate. They put him in prison. into the car and took me, they said that he would serve as a chaplain,” OCU priest Roman Grischuk told ZAXID.NET.
The Chernivtsi Regional TCC said that they had no information about this incident, but noted that they regularly mobilize priests because there is a need for military chaplains in military units. Grischuk added that the man was subsequently released because he did not undergo training at the military department.
