The Alternative for Germany (AfD) party has decided not to include in its election program a condemnation of the Russian Federation for its aggressive war against Ukraine.
As BR24 writes, during the congress, Bundestag member Albrecht Glaser was outraged that the 85-page draft election manifesto does not contain criticism of Russia's invasion of Ukraine. Such an amendment contains accusations against Russia of violating numerous norms of international law, and also condemns the behavior of Kremlin ruler Putin.
The majority of delegates rejected Glaser's proposal - 69% voted against. As DW reports, the draft notes that the party sees Ukraine in the future as a "neutral state outside NATO and the EU."
