Promoting Women's Leadership
The International Forum, "Women Leaders During War and Challenges," convened in Tbilisi on December 13th, uniting representatives from various sectors - Ukrainian diaspora, Georgian communities, Ukrainian Embassy, Georgian non-governmental bodies, and international organizations. The primary aim was to consolidate and empower women leaders across political, business, and social spheres.
Organizational Support
The event was organized by the Georgian-Ukrainian platform, funded by the UN Development Program, specifically backed by the German government and supported by the Ukrainian Embassy. The focus was on fostering discussions around pressing global challenges faced by Ukrainian women due to the full-scale Russian invasion in Ukraine. Topics encompassed women's entrepreneurial pursuits during wartime, social responsibility, support systems, and international organizations' grant aid for Ukrainian women displaced in Georgia.
Encounters and Engagement
Notably, forum attendees had the opportunity to interact with a group of children from Odessa, Ukraine, who are currently vacationing in Georgia and are children of Ukrainian soldiers. This encounter provided a platform for cultural exchange and understanding amidst the ongoing geopolitical complexities.
Supporting Ukraine: A Continual Effort
This recent engagement follows the charitable telethon held in Georgia in October, aimed at extending support to Ukraine and its people amidst the ongoing conflict with Russian occupiers. Such initiatives underscore the continuous solidarity and efforts put forth by various groups and nations in support of Ukraine during these challenging times.
