Estonia is providing Ukraine with a new package of military aid worth 80 million euros. This is stated in a statement from the Estonian Ministry of Defense.
In particular, the Estonian government supported the proposal of Defense Minister Hanno Pevkur regarding long-term assistance for Ukraine and a large package of military assistance.
"Just as Estonian Javelins played a critical role in the defense of Kyiv and inspired other countries to lend a helping hand to Ukraine, our goal with this large aid package is to demonstrate that Ukraine's fight for freedom can only be successful if allies continue to help Ukraine ", emphasized Pevkur.
The new package will include a large number of anti-tank missiles for the Javelin, as well as grenade launchers, light weapons rounds, various vehicles, boats and diving equipment. The exact amounts are not publicly announced due to security reasons. At the same time, the replacement cost of this package is estimated at almost 80 million euros.
"The Russian regime is betting that the free world will withdraw its support for Ukraine. In order to defeat the miscalculations of the Russian criminal regime, we must send a strategic signal: we will continue to provide significant and sustained support to Ukraine until Ukraine wins the war. What's at stake is not only the security of Ukraine, but also of the Estonian, transatlantic and global community as a whole,” the minister added.
Since 2022, Estonia has provided Ukraine with military assistance worth 500 million euros.
