The widespread outage on December 12th stemmed from a massive disruption in the Ukrainian operator Kyivstar's services, affecting mobile and home internet connectivity. It was later revealed that the problem arose from a significant cyberattack on the operator's infrastructure, leading Ukraine's Security Service to initiate a criminal investigation. Investigating authorities are considering various possibilities, including the involvement of Russian intelligence services behind this cyberattack.
As of December 13th, 6:00 PM, Kyivstar initiated voice call services across Ukraine, signaling a gradual restoration of services.
