Volunteers prepared 160 loaves of this traditional Ukrainian bread, allowing interested buyers to acquire a taste of it for 10 euros or make a donation. Among the visitors to this corner showcasing the palyanytsia were Vice President of the Bundestag, Katrin Göring-Eckardt, Finance Minister Christian Lindner, and other prominent politicians.

Some of the deputies not only had the chance to taste the bread previously baked by "Bake for Ukraine" but also participated in the magic of its preparation. In the fall, a group of deputies from various parties engaged in a masterclass to learn the art of making this delicacy.

One of the initiators and organizers behind both the sale and the masterclass is the Chairman of the Bundestag Committee on Foreign Affairs, Michael Roth (Social Democratic Party).

"Supporting Ukraine is close to my heart, and I have been a longtime friend of 'Bake for Ukraine.' It's fantastic that 'Bake for Ukraine' can showcase itself here today, and many deputies and colleagues from the parliamentary bureau bought the palyanytsia, the traditional Ukrainian bread, for a good cause. I hope we can further spread this cultural value, the palyanytsia, here in Germany," said the politician to the agency.

The organizers didn't just treat visitors with bread but also shared details about their initiative, including plans to build a bakery in Kharkiv. They also presented "The Merch Republic," a partnership fund, and its initiator, Karsten Furken. This ordinary Berliner, previously unconnected to Ukraine, began helping refugees after February 24, transporting many and supporting children in Ukraine. He frequently travels to Ukraine, particularly to Odessa, where he provided a mobile bakery with a tractor.

Currently, the initiative, raising funds to support bakeries, is seeking continuous sponsors as the collected funds will suffice until early February next year.
