Unifying the Ukrainian Community in the Netherlands
The recently concluded Ukrainian Community Forum in The Hague marked a pivotal moment for Ukrainians residing in the Netherlands. With over a hundred attendees, the forum provided a unique opportunity for various Ukrainian community sectors to converge and foster active collaboration.
Diverse Participation and Commendations
Representatives from Ukrainian civic organizations, educational hubs, cultural and artistic associations, volunteer initiatives, as well as artists, writers, translators, and engaged citizens actively participated in the event. Ukrainian Ambassador to the Netherlands, Alexander Karasevich, inaugurated the gathering.
Preserving Identity Amidst Challenges
Ambassador Karasevich highlighted the historical resilience of the Ukrainian people against centuries of Russian attempts to erode Ukrainian identity. He emphasized the preservation of language and culture as vital components defining the Ukrainian nation.

Acknowledging ongoing Russian aggression and its test of Ukrainian resilience, the Ambassador praised the unity and proactive stance of Ukrainians in defending their country and heritage, underscoring these as fundamental traits of the Ukrainian populace, whether within their homeland or abroad.
Upholding Ukrainian Identity Abroad
Karasevich commended the thriving activities of the Ukrainian community in the Netherlands, advocating for active civic, educational, and cultural involvement, emphasizing the significance of a collective voice in the current scenario.
A Call for Collective Action
He urged continuous action, highlighting the importance of each organization, volunteer, and activist's role in achieving their shared aspiration: restoring peace in Ukraine and reuniting within the European family.
Recognition of Activism
The Ambassador conferred prestigious state awards, bestowed by the President of Ukraine, upon key figures in the Ukrainian community, namely, Vira Zvaan, Chair of the "Ukrainians in the Netherlands" Foundation, and board member Lyudmila Lisovska.
