Warfare is changing quite quickly and becoming more technologically advanced. The head of the unmanned systems group at the headquarters of the 3rd separate assault brigade of the Ground Forces of the Ukrainian Armed Forces, Yuri Filatov, spoke about this on air “1+1” as part of the telethon.
According to him, “we are very quickly going through different stages of the war,” and from the very beginning it was said that this was a “war of drones.”
“And in fact, this is our only chance to resist such a big enemy, who has practically unlimited human resources, financial resources, resources for logistics, conventional weapons, conventional weapons. Therefore, we are gradually moving, the battlefield is becoming more and more saturated with all kinds of technologies "- said the military man.
At the same time, Filatov admitted that neither Ukraine nor its Western partners were ready for the war that Russia unleashed.
"What kind of war was there? There was a war: Iraq, Afghanistan, some local conflicts with a multiple technological advantage, first of all, when there is complete dominance in the air, when there is a technological advantage in weapons models. ... Those models that exist, they provided advantage, that was enough - why spend more? ... They talked a lot about this, but little was done. Our partners themselves admit this," he stated.
