Over the past 24 hours, January 5, 62 military clashes took place between the Defense Forces and the Russian invaders at the front.
According to the General Staff in its morning report, in the Kupyansky direction the Ukrainian Armed Forces repelled 7 enemy attacks in the area of the village of Sinkovka, Kharkov region.
“In the Bakhmut direction, our soldiers repulsed 3 enemy attacks near Kleshchievka and Andreevka, Donetsk region. In the Avdiivka direction, Ukrainian defenders continue to hold back the enemy, who does not give up attempts to encircle Avdiivka. Our soldiers staunchly hold the defense, inflicting significant losses on the occupiers,” the department added.
As noted, Ukrainian defenders repelled 4 attacks by the invaders in the areas of Novobakhmutovka, Avdeevka and another 17 attacks near Pervomaisky and Nevelsky, Donetsk region.
At the same time, in the Maryinsky direction, the Ukrainian Armed Forces continue to contain the enemy near Maryinka, Pobeda and Novomikhailovka in the Donetsk region, where the enemy carried out 15 unsuccessful attacks.
“In the Zaporozhye direction, Ukrainian soldiers repulsed an enemy attack in the Rabotinoy area of the Zaporozhye region. In the Kherson direction, the defense forces continue measures to expand the bridgehead. Despite significant losses, the enemy does not abandon attempts to dislodge our units from their positions. In particular, over the past 24 hours the enemy carried out 13 unsuccessful assault operations." - said the General Staff.
