Commander-in-Chief of the Armed Forces of Ukraine Valery Zaluzhny revealed the account of air defense forces regarding downed missiles and drones of the Russian Federation on January 8. 18 warheads and 8 attack UAVs were destroyed.
In general, the Russian Federation used 59 weapons as part of an air attack on Ukraine: the enemy’s arsenal included cruise, aircraft, ballistic, anti-aircraft guided missiles and attack UAVs, he specified.
To strike Ukraine, the Russian Federation launched:
8 attack UAVs of the "Shahed-136/131" type from the Primorsko-Akhtarsk region - Russian Federation;
7 S-300/S-400 anti-aircraft guided missiles from the Belgorod region;
4 X-47M2 Kinzhal aeroballistic missiles from four MiG-31K aircraft (launch area - Ryazan, Tambov);
24 X-101/X-555/X-55 cruise missiles from 11 Tu-95MS strategic bombers (launch area - Engels - Russian Federation);
8 Kh-22 cruise missiles from Tu-22M3 bombers from the Belgorod region;
6 Iskander-M ballistic missiles from the Dzhankoy, Chauda - Crimea areas;
2 X-31P guided aircraft missiles from tactical aircraft (launch area - Belgorod region).
Our defenders destroyed 8 attack UAVs "Shahed-136/131" and 18 cruise missiles Kh-101/Kh-555/Kh-55 in the sky, the Commander-in-Chief of the Ukrainian Armed Forces emphasized.
During the attack, the enemy hit critical, civilian, industrial infrastructure in Ukraine, and also attacked military targets.
The Russian Federation sent its ballistics to 4 regions: Kharkov, Dnepropetrovsk, Zaporozhye and Khmelnitsky, Zaluzhny indicated.
For its part, the Air Force of the Ukrainian Armed Forces emphasized:
"Not all enemy missiles that were not shot down reached their targets," the report said.
