Fire at Kyiv Shopping Mall - Three Injured

Kyiv faced a challenging situation as a fire erupted on the fourth floor of the "Kosmopolit" shopping mall in the Solomianskyi district. The emergency services swiftly responded to the incident, managing to extinguish the flames by 17:42, covering an area of 50 square meters. The fire prompted the evacuation of approximately 200 individuals, emphasizing the importance of a coordinated response.

Kyiv Mayor Vitali Klitschko stated that three individuals sought medical attention due to the effects of the fire. Among them were a man and a woman, both working in the shopping mall, and an eight-year-old girl who was present at the scene. Medical assistance was provided on-site, and fortunately, the victims declined hospitalization.

The State Emergency Service reported receiving the alert about the fire at 15:57 on January 13th, originating from Vadym Hetman Street in the Solomianskyi district. The incident unfolded in a section of the shopping mall's fourth floor, specifically in a children's room. The rapid response of the emergency services contributed to the successful containment of the situation.

The mayor assured the public that emergency services continue to operate at the site, ensuring safety and addressing any lingering concerns.
