The Russian invaders continue to experiment and adapt their missile and UAV strike packages against Ukraine in an attempt to penetrate our air defenses. However, Ukrainian defenders have adapted to enemy tactics, and sanctions are degrading the quality of missiles and preventing the Russian Federation from successfully attacking our country.

As the Institute for the Study of War reports, citing a Russian blogger, the occupiers have recently attacked Ukraine using various types of missiles, in particular, hypersonic ballistic Kh-47 Kinzhal. According to him, the Russian Federation launched unspecified aerial decoys and Shahed drones to bypass Ukrainian air defense systems so that Russian forces could launch successful missile strikes.

ISW experts observed how the occupiers experimented with various combinations of drone and missile strikes in an attempt to penetrate the defenses of Ukrainian air defense systems, while the Ukrainian Armed Forces adapted to Russian strike patterns.

Analysts do not rule out that the terrorist country may be increasing its efforts to obtain ballistic missiles from abroad, because under some circumstances, this type of missile may be more successful in hitting targets in Ukraine.

"On January 14, Ukrainian Air Force spokesman Colonel Yuriy Ignat said sanctions would likely degrade the quality of Russian missiles. This could further hamper Russia's ability to launch a successful series of strikes against Ukraine," the ISW report adds.
