Macron goes to Ukraine: promises security guarantees and long-range missiles

French President Emmanuel Macron has planned a trip to Ukraine in February. Reuters writes about this with reference to his statement.
On Tuesday, January 16, he said that the purpose of the visit would be to complete a bilateral agreement on security guarantees between the countries. In addition, Macron promised that about 40 Scalp long-range missiles and several hundred bombs would be delivered to Ukraine in the coming weeks.
“After these deliveries, I myself will go to Ukraine in February and complete work on these texts,” Macron said, noting that Europeans need to make sure that Ukraine can continue to defend itself against Russia.
