The Polish Air Force scrambled fighter jets due to a new massive Russian attack on Ukraine on January 15, as the western regions were also under threat. This was announced by the Operational Command of the Polish Armed Forces.
"In accordance with the current procedures, the Operational Command of the MLRS has deployed all available forces and means at its disposal, more pairs of fighter jets have been scrambled, and ground-based air defense and radar reconnaissance systems have been put on high alert," the statement noted during the air raid alert in Ukraine.
The department added that such measures are aimed at ensuring security in those territories that border on threatening areas.
"The operational command of the MLRS is monitoring the current situation, and subordinate forces and assets are in full readiness for immediate response," the country's armed forces emphasized.
