"Trump can put pressure on Russia": Zelensky answered whether there is a chance to end the war in 2025

Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky notes that the newly elected US President Donald Trump needs to provide real security guarantees for Ukraine and force Russian dictator Vladimir Putin to end the war.
The head of state said this in an interview with Polish media following his visit to Warsaw.
In particular, the Ukrainian president was asked whether the war could end this year.
Zelensky recalled that the newly elected US President Donald Trump stated that he really wants to end the war. This message was both public and private.
"And he is a leader capable of putting pressure on Russia. I am sure that Russia is afraid of America and China. And it is afraid of a united Europe," Zelensky said.
At the same time, according to the President of Ukraine, from the point of view of the army, Europe without the armed forces of Ukraine is not capable of fighting Russia.
"The Russian army is larger than the entire army of the European Union. More, more weapons, more people and more impudence, because Europeans are civilized, and they are not used to it, they do not know what it is... Thank God that they are alive and live in peace, in democracy, and do not know what war is. But Russia knows and has experience. Without the Ukrainian army, the armies of the European Union have no chance today," Zelensky noted.
The head of state is confident that Russian dictator Vladimir Putin knows this and talks about it in the middle of his entourage.
"Therefore, Ukraine is not a wall to occupy or protect Ukraine. No!" - This is a question of the occupation of Europe. It will pass very quickly and will twist arms. Fact. I am absolutely sure of this. Therefore, when you say: can we stop (the war) this year? We must do everything," Zelensky emphasized.
In this regard, the head of state said that today America is a strong partner, and there is the European Union, which has become stronger thanks to the increase and growth of weapons production.
"The European Union needs to be more pragmatic. Increase its production for itself by two or three times," Zelensky added.
He clarified that Europe should increase weapons production not in order to fight, but so that the Russians know that all this is in Europe and the Europeans produce more.
"And Europe can. And then, in this way, you slap Putin's hands. This is important. Trump can force. We must agree with Trump that there are specific security guarantees for Ukraine, and he must force Putin to diplomacy - to end this war. But Trump, I believe, is capable, and God willing, he will be able to offer Ukraine real security guarantees. This is not an offer. It’s not easy, you know, like business - to offer something: will you, won’t you, like it or not, no - We need real security guarantees, which for us, and for Europe, and for the Russians will mean that these are real security guarantees, that Ukraine will be able to protect itself and others if Putin leaves again,” Zelensky emphasized.
