US President Joe Biden on Wednesday, January 17, met with congressional leadership, including the heads and leading members of the House and Senate Intelligence, Armed Services and Appropriations committees, to discuss the strategic consequences of inaction on Ukraine for the American state and the world in in general.

The head of the country during the event “was clear that further inaction by Congress jeopardizes the national security of the United States, NATO and the rest of the free world,” the White House said. "The President called on Congress to quickly provide additional funding to support Ukraine and send a strong signal of US resolve," the report said.

Biden stressed the importance of Congress providing Kyiv with the necessary resources to defend against a brutal Russian invasion, particularly artillery and air defense.
