The attack on St. Petersburg, near which an oil depot was hit, could have been carried out during an experimental launch of a drone. This statement was made by military expert Oleg Zhdanov.

“Over the last few months there has been a large wave of presentations of the latest drones. First there were 300 km, then 700, then 1000. A drone was even presented that supposedly can fly 3000 kilometers. There is information in St. Petersburg that it seemed to be an experimental launch and testing. What is characteristic is that neither the Belarusian air defense systems nor the Russian ones worked. The drones calmly flew to the targets," he said on Apostrophe TV.

Speaking about the facility itself, where the “bavovna” came, Zhdanov emphasized that St. Petersburg is not working so much for the war against Ukraine as supporting the Russian group in Syria, because logistics across the Black Sea are difficult.

“In any case, any harm to the enemy’s strategic targets is to our benefit. This is our step towards victory,” the expert noted.
