On January 29, 2024, Dutch Defense Minister Kaisa Ollongren announced the allocation of 122 million euros for military assistance to Ukraine. This was reported by the press service of the country's government.
It is known that this amount will be distributed for various needs. The vast majority of the funds, namely 87 million euros, will be allocated for the purchase of 155-mm artillery ammunition for Ukraine.
25 million euros will be sent to the International Fund for Ukraine, led by the UK. It finances the purchase of military equipment directly from manufacturers. Among other things, we are talking about air defense systems, ammunition and spare parts.
The Netherlands will allocate another 10 million euros to strengthen cyber defense in Ukraine. Previously, the country joined the IT coalition.
“It is very important to support Ukraine not only in the short term, but also in the long term. It is especially important now to show that we are helping Ukraine,” said Dutch Defense Minister Kaisa Ollongren.
