Ukraine is facing a critical shortage of ammunition and needs help from partners. However, we are talking not only about shells, but also about artillery systems.
“We really need this help,” Kirill Budanov, head of the Main Intelligence Directorate of the Ukrainian Defense Ministry, told CNN.
The list was headed by artillery systems, the publication notes. According to the intelligence chief, Ukraine needs a sharp increase in the number of guns, regardless of their age and type. The reason is that years of fighting have taken a toll on Ukrainian long-range guns.
Ammunition is also vital. Budanov emphasized that “shells are one of the most decisive factors in this war.”
“It’s not so much quality as quantity,” noted the head of the Main Intelligence Directorate of the Moscow Region.
At the same time, Ukraine’s position in the air is better – in drones, “we are more or less equal” with the enemy. However, Russia is constantly learning from its combat experience, so there is a trend towards even greater use of UAVs at the front.
In addition, Budanov would like to see American A-10 attack aircraft in service with Ukrainian troops. According to him, this is what can really help inflict a military defeat on Russia.
