The Russian occupiers maneuver drones at night for more than six hours, exhausting our air defense system. Natalya Gumenyuk, head of the Joint Coordination Press Center of the Defense Forces of Southern Ukraine, said this on air at the telethon
“The attack was massive at night, all in the traditions that the enemy is already laying down for us according to his scheme. The work of the air defense continued very powerfully and for a long time. This is the depletion of our systems. The drones maneuvered for almost six hours. But the characteristic feature was that the enemy directed and on front-line territories with their long-range loitering shells, in particular, our air defense units tested two of these in the Kherson region,” she said.
According to her, three more such shells were “worked out” in the Kirovograd region, but they still hit an infrastructure facility. She noted that the fire that broke out had already been localized and no people were injured.
“The enemy is trying to strike those regions that can directly support the front-line territories. Therefore, the Dnepropetrovsk region, the Nikolaev region - those regions that are adjacent to the front-line ones - are suffering,” said Gumenyuk.
The head of the Joint Coordination Press Center of the Defense Forces of Southern Ukraine, Gumenyuk, explained why the enemy began to use more Shaheds to attack front-line territories.
“Obviously, they have a certain “creative” search for new tactics. In particular, our combat work, for example, in the left bank of the Kherson region led to another loss of an ammunition supply point. In connection with this, we see a decrease in the number of artillery shellings. They are beginning to look for other ways in which "can strike at our capabilities, in particular, not military, but at the capabilities of the region. In addition, despite the fact that we have such a moderate winter in the south, the enemy does not stop energy terror and critical infrastructure facilities remain a priority for him," - said Gumenyuk.
