The Russian occupiers advanced five to seven kilometers closer to Chasovoy Yar over an unspecified period of time, east of Avdievka, and also northwest of Marinka.

According to the Institute for the Study of War (ISW), the occupiers made little progress southwest of Bakhmut amid positional fighting. Geolocation data dated February 3 shows that Russian troops have recently advanced slightly north of Kleshchievka (7 km southwest of Bakhmut).

A representative of the Ukrainian brigade fighting in the Bakhmut direction said that Russian troops advanced five to seven kilometers closer to Chasovy Yar over an unspecified period of time. In addition, the occupiers have recently begun to carry out mechanized attacks in the area.

In addition, Russian troops have recently advanced east of Avdiivka amid ongoing trench fighting in the area. Geolocation video released on February 3 shows Russian troops recently advancing along the N-20 highway east of the city.

A representative of the Ukrainian brigade operating in the Avdeevka direction stated that the Russians, however, did not advance either in the Stepnoye area (northwest of Avdeevka) or at the Avdeevka coke plant.
