Following the cluster attack in Odessa on April 29, the death toll continues to rise, including two young people who died in hospital. Seven people died as a result of the attack, and fifteen more are in hospitals with injuries of varying severity.
Medical care results
A 23-year-old young man who received serious injuries as a result of the attack died in hospital, despite the efforts of doctors. Another wounded man, a guy born in 2001, died on May 8. Doctors fought for his life, but were unable to save him. The city council expressed condolences to the families of the victims.
Severe consequences
According to the head of the Odessa Police Department, Oleg Kiper, at the time of May 7, there were fifteen wounded in hospitals who were injured as a result of the attack on April 29, 30 and May 1. Of these, five remained in serious condition, and another ten had moderate injuries.
Details of the attack
The attack, carried out on the evening of April 29, which targeted the coastal area of Odessa, led to the death of five civilians and injured more than 30 people. Two children, a pregnant woman and former people's deputy Sergei Kivalov, as well as the vice-rector of Moscow State University Boris Vasiliev, were especially seriously injured. Significant damage was caused to the building of the Students' Palace of the National University "Odessa Law Academy", as well as to private houses and infrastructure facilities.
